CLEO

CLEO age 9, was adopted from the Clifton shelter in 2012, and it's uncertain whether she was born on the streets or lost/abandoned. She is docile and handlable, extremely affectionate and will sit in a lap. She gets along with other cats, but tends to be partial to males. She is also quite happy by herself and would do fine as an only cat. She love to climb to high spots and will sit on your shoulder!

Cleo is small, has short white hair with black patches, and long ears. A very easy cat, and would be good for someone with little or no experience, as she was Vin's first cat. SHE MUST REMAIN AN INDOOR CAT!

***BE CERTAIN NOT TO CONFUSE CLEO WITH BABY-BOO OR COOKIE, AS THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR! CLEO IS SMALLEST AND HAS THE LONGEST EARS; COOKIE HAS GREY SPOTS AND LOOKS STONED; BABY BOO IS LONG AND ATHLETIC.***

BERT

BERT, age uknkown, was rescued from the Bronx in 2016, and it's uncertain whether he was born on the streets or lost/abandoned. He is docile and handlable, very affectionate, loves attention and may sit on a lap. He gets along with all the cats, but is missing some teeth. Despite this he eats dry food and like wet. He has a hoarse whispery "meow", but despite this is quite vocal; he "talks".

Bert is small with short grey hair and soft black stripes. HE MUST REMAIN AN INDOOR CAT!

FIONA

Fiona, age unkown, was found wandering the Garfield streets. She was definitely not feral, as she walked right into a carrier and went to sleep! She is extremely outgoing, curious and affectionate. She is handable but has never sat in a lap. She does have sensitive digestion, and is on "Catlax" for constipation and hairballs. She has never eaten wet food, and gets a grain-free dry, such as "Taste of the Wild".

Fiona is large, with long brown and black hair. She gets along with the other cats, but tends to be independent like Cleo, and would do fine as an only pet and/or first cat. Aside from her digestive issues and dietary needs, is very easy. SHE MUST REMAIN AN INDOOR CAT!

SQUEAKY

SENIOR MALE AGE 15

SQUEAKY age 16, was adopted in 2015 from Chance at Life Rescue. A senior cat, he is docile and managable, extremely affectionate and loves to sleep by your head and sit in your lap. He has a very loud and expressive "meow" which may be due to hearing loss. Since he is so old, he acts a bit strangely, but in completely benign ways (he bats at the water and eats with his paws, likes to dine in odd places). He gets along great with other cats, but really just sleeps most of the time. He too has sensivive digestion, and has been on probiotics, (Fortiflora or Advita), and gets grain-free food.

Squeaky is small and a bit frail, with short brownish-gold hair, accented with thin black stripes. Due to his age, delicate constitution, probable deafness and quirky nature, an experienced, insightful cat parent/caregiver would suit him best. HE MUST REMAIN AN INDOOR CAT!

ALLYBEAR

Allybear, age 6(?) was found outside in 2015, and it's uncertain whether she was born on the streets or lost/abandoned. She is very sweet, handlable and loves the lap. She can bit testy when handled, but will comply most of the time. She gets along with all the cats, and loves attention. She is however, quite obese, and has been this way since being spayed. As a result she can't clean herself thoroughly, and her butt needs to be wiped periodically. For that reason alone, an experienced cat-caregiver willing to do this is the best candidate for her adoption.

Allybear is medium-sized with short grey hair. SHE MUST REMAIN AN INDOOR CAT!

COOKIE & BABY-BOO (PAIR)

ADULT MOTHER & DAUGHTER

COOKIE, age 8 and BABY-BOO age 6, are a mother and daughter pair that ABSOLUTELY MUST STAY TOGETHER. It is advised that they go to a home with gentle cats, as Baby-Boo is very sensitive to bullies and aggressive cats. Although she is extremely timid, she has made great progress and in time will open up to her new parents. She is a bit skittish and extremely attached to her mother, Cookie, and stays with her most of the time.

Cookie is missing most of her teeth, and is a bit aloof, but is very affectionate. She can be handled with relative ease, but Baby-Boo would require experienced handling. Although they are good, tame cats, a cat parent with experience and patience is recommended for this pair.

Both are medium-sized, with short white hair. Cookie, the mother, is chubby with grey patches and a distinct "heart-shaped" mark on her right side. She has had most of her teeth removed but can eat dry food. Baby-Boo, the daughter, is lean and sleek, with black patches and a cheetah-like build. She only likes dry and very rarely eats wet food. THEY MUST REMAIN INDOOR CATS!

***BE CERTAIN NOT TO CONFUSE BABY-BOO OR COOKIE WITH CLEO, AS THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR! COOKIE HAS GREY SPOTS AND LOOKS STONED, BABY BOO IS LONG AND ATHLETIC, AND CLEO IS SMALLEST WITH THE LONGEST EARS.***

SOPHIE & HARRIET (PAIR)

ADULT SISTERS- AGE 6

SOPHIE AND HARRIET, age 6, are sisters and ABSOLUTELY MUST STAY TOGETHER. They were born out on the Garfield streets and were trapped in the fall of 2014 as 5 month-old kittens. Although they have matured into very docile, well-behaved and social cats, they have not known any humans besides Vin and would require adequate patience, allowing time for them to trust their new parents.

They are large, chubby and long-haired; black with white accents. Both have very distict markings: Sophie is more black with a black spot on her chin and nose, while Harriet is more white, with a pronounced mane and a"chocolate-chip" shaped mark on her nose.

Known collectively as "The Harries" (in honor of their deceased patriarch, Harry), their personalities and temperment are identical, and are fairly managable. They allow being picked-up and petted but never have sat in a lap. They are very comfortable and confident, and could go to a home with other cats. They could possibly be re-introduced to a partial outdoor life -but only in a rural area- absoluletly not in a city or urban suburb!

Adoption by an experienced and patient cat parent is recommended, especially one with knowledge of rehabilitated ferals. The Harries are cousins of the Cubs...

BOOTSY & RAISIN (PAIR)

ADOLESCENT BROTHERS- AGE 1

BOOTSY AND RAISIN, age 1, are brothers and ABSOLUTELY MUST STAY TOGETHER. Known collectively as "The Cubs", they were born out on the Garfield streets, and were trapped in the winter of 2019 as 2 month-old kittens. Like their cousins Sophie and Harriet, they are very docile, well-behaved and social cats. However they too have never known any humans besides Vin and they would require patience, and in time would also come to trust their new parents.

They are both black and short-haired, with Bootsy being larger with white accents; specifically his distinct white "boots" (hence his name). They are for the most part managable: Bootsy is handable, but only as far as picking him up, and he won't sit in a lap (yet). He is very curious and vocal, and has definite alpha-male traits. He does however love to chew cardboard.

Raisin has never been picked up and is very timid and cautious, bordering on skittish. Although he is curious and likes to be petted, he allows it on his terms. This will continue to improve as he has made tremendous progress in the short time he has been tame.

They are very brotherly and play together- even wrestle. Raisin shows much affectionate towards the other cats, and is everyone's baby. The cubs could easily go to a home with other cats, and could possibly be re-introduced to a partial outdoor life -but only in a rural area- absoluletly not in a city or urban suburb! As with Sophie and Harriet, an experienced and patient cat parent is recommended, especially one with knowledge of rehabilitated ferals.
